For Your Viewing Pleasure II

It’s the second last day of Trevor Jones’s “Synaethesia II” exhibition. It’s been such a magical experience and I have enjoyed every minute of it and working with Trevor. As with all exhibitions I feel a little anxious about taking the work down soon. Quite simply I’m going to miss these paintings and the uplifting company of the artist behind them.
Earlier on I watched the following video in a bid to cheer myself up. It brought a smile to my face and I hope you enjoy it too……

CAN’T TOUCH THIS!

So Thursday 4th saw the opening of Trevor Jones’s exhibition “Synaesthesia II”. What a great night! It was well attended by a smashing crowd who were genuinely enthusiastic and supportive of the work.
There have been some really special exhibition openings at Union Gallery and this will go down as one of the highlights of 2010.

The whole evening was fun and busy from start to finish….very intense for Trevor. However, for me, the most poignant moment is captured below:

Artist Martyn McKenzie stays behind after the opening so he can have a serious discussion with Trevor about his work. I thought this was particularly special as Martyn is the youngest artist that shows at Union Gallery, but his passion and commitment is well beyond his years, matching the spirit of someone like Trevor. I found it touching that “wisdom and experience” was shared and graciously accepted between two brilliant artists.

Butterflies (in my tummy)

trevors studioFeeling both excited and nervous about abstract artist, Trevor Jones’s solo opening on Thursday. I also feel happy….an emotion never experienced prior to an opening before. I have good feelings about how his work will be received and it will joyful to see him get the success and recognition he deserves. He has worked solidly on this for over a year now. It seems like yesterday when we first talked about his show. Crumbs….I can’t believe it opens in 3 days!

This is an image from inside Trevor’s studio taken months ago. The use of tubs for mixing and thinning suggest painting on a hard core level!
